Four representatives of EIFL and the EIFL eLibrary Myanmar project will attend the 39th UKSG Annual Conference.
EIFL eLibrary Myanmar project coordinator Myat Sann Nyein will give a presentation titled ‘Transforming libraries in Myanmar: the EIFL eLibrary Myanmar project' on 12 April. The presentation will discuss the impact of the EIFL eLibrary Myanmar project, which provided seven libraries in Myanmar with online access to over 15,000 full-text journals and 140,000 e-books, and built capacity of librarians, academics, researchers and students to access and use the e-resources.
Also travelling to the UK from Myanmar are Ni Ni Naing, Librarian at Universities’ Central Library in Yangon, and Hlaing Hlaing Gyi, Librarian at the University of Yangon Library. Both libraries are taking part in the eLibrary Myanmar project. The three delegates from Myanmar received sponsorship from UKSG to attend the event.
Leading and mentoring the EIFL delegation is EIFL Programmes and Events coordinator, Jevgenija Sevcova.
