EIFL in Moldova

EIFL has been working in Moldova since 1999. We supported the creation of the Electronic Resources for Moldova  (REM),  and through this partnership, libraries in Moldova are providing access to a wide range of scholarly e-resources.

In Moldova, EIFL has supported national and institutional open access awareness raising and advocacy workshops that have resulted in the launch of open access journals and the creation of a number of open access repositories in the country (which continues to (opendoar.org/countrylist.php) grow.

Through our work, the first open access mandate in the country was introduced by the Academy of Economic Studies, followed by the National Institute for Economic Research and Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University, thereby opening their collective research to the world.

EIFL also advocated for revisions to the national copyright law to enable libraries to better meet the needs of their end users.
