EIFL is to give a presentation at the regional event for Latin America and the Caribbean marking the International Day for Universal Access to Information.
The event brings together founders and members of AmeliCA, a community-driven communications infrastructure for scholarly publishing and open science in Latin America and the Global South. Participants will discuss obstacles to non-profit open access publishing in Latin America and beyond, and opportunities for strengthening common infrastructures and systems for open access publishing.
Iryna Kuchma, EIFL Open Access Programme Manager, will participate remotely. Her presentation is on the topic, ‘The role of the academy and libraries in strengthening open access without Article Processing Charges (APCs)’.
