EIFL renews agreement with Brill
The agreement includes discounted access to journals and waived and discounted APCs

EIFL has renewed an agreement with Brill, for a further three years until 31 December 2026. The agreement includes discounted access journals and waived and discounted article processing charges (APCs).

The agreement includes discounted access to over 300 journals. Libraries can select from three Brill Journals Collections:

  • Humanities & Social Science Journal Collection 
  • Law Journals Collection 
  • Biology Journals Collections

Libraries in 24 EIFL partner countries are eligible to subscribe to their selected collections:

Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Namibia, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Corresponding authors from 18 EIFL partner countries can continue to publish accepted research articles of Brill’s fully open access and hybrid journals for free. This means that they will not be charged any APCs. The countries are - 

Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Malawi, Moldova, Myanmar, Nepal, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Discounted APCs

Corresponding authors from 19 countries EIFL partner countries can publish accepted research articles of Brill’s fully open access and hybrid journals at discounted rates:

Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Estonia, Fiji, Georgia, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Namibia, North Macedonia, Palestine, Serbia, Slovenia, Thailand, Uzbekistan

Authors do not need to actively claim the waiver or discount, instead they will be recognized automatically when they select Open Access during the submission process.
