
EIFL has renewed its agreement with SAGE Publishing for access to and publishing in SAGE journals for a further three years, until December 2028.
Free access
Under the renewed agreement, libraries in 11 EIFL countries can get free access to the SAGE Premier collection of over 935 leading international peer-reviewed journals:
- Armenia, Congo DR, Ethiopia, Georgia, Myanmar, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Ukraine, Zambia
Discounted access
Libraries in 12 countries are eligible for discounted access to the SAGE Premier collection:
- Albania, Estonia, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Uzbekistan
Read & publish
Libraries in five countries are able to benefit from the read and publish offer. Institutions in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia and Slovenia that sign the read and publish agreement, will have access to subscribed SAGE Premier collection, free open access publishing in Sage Choice hybrid journals within a subscribed collection, and 20% discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) in any participating Gold open access journal.
Waived Article Processing Charges
The agreement also ensures waived APCs for corresponding authors from 20 EIFL partner countries when publishing in SAGE’s fully open access (Gold) journals:
- Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Maldives, Malawi, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Uganda, Ukraine, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe
Discounted Article Processing Charges
From 2026, a 50 % discount on the APCs list price will apply for corresponding authors from 11 EIFL partner countries when publishing in SAGE’s fully open access (Gold) journals:
- Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Fiji, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Namibia, North Macedonia, Uzbekistan
