WACREN, CAMES and EIFL organize a webinar in French to discuss no-fee open access publishing in Africa

Join this LIBSENSE webinar on open access (OA) journal publishing in Africa where no fees are charged to authors or readers (often referred to as Diamond OA journals). The webinar is organized by WACREN (West and Central African Research and Education Network), CAMES (Conseil Africain et Malgache pour l'Enseignement Superieur)  and EIFL, and the language of the webinar is French.

The webinar will include case studies presented by - 

  • LIRE Zakari, CAMES, about no-fee open access publishing in CAMES countries;
  • AZILAN Innocent, Universités de Toulon and de Lomé, about no-fee OA journal publishing in Togo; 
  • FOLEGA Fousséni, Laboratoire de Botanique et Ecologie Végétale, Université de Lomé, about Revue Ecosystèmes et Paysages
  • TOURNOY Raphaël, CCSD, and KABKIA Bitsha-kitime Dieudoné, about Revue africaine de santé et de productions animales (RASPA), École inter-États des sciences et médecine vétérinaires in Dakar; and 
  • MABIALA Georges Christian, about Revue Congolaise des Sciences et Technologies

Presenters will expand on country reports or present case studies included in the EIFL landscape study of no-fee open access publishing in Africa conducted as a part of the ‘Collaboration for sustainable open access publishing in Africa’ project implemented by EIFL, AJOL (African Journals Online) and WACREN with support from Wellcome. 

Presentations will be followed up by a panel with SAGBOHAN Joseph, Université d'Abomey-Calavi, Ecole Polytechnique d'Abomey-Calavi (Benin), OUANGRÉ Zoé Aubierge, Université Norbert Zongo (Burkina Faso) and OUATTARA-COULIBALY Cécile, Université Virtuelle de Côte d’Ivoire and EIFL Country Coordinator in Côte d’Ivoire about challenges and solutions of no-fee OA publishing in Africa.
