Working through library consortia, EIFL supports increased use of e-resources by scholars and researchers.
Institutions from 37 EIFL partner countries are eligible to subscribe to e-resources negotiated by EIFL.

THE CHALLENGE
Research shows that often researchers, students and academics are not aware that their libraries have access to high quality e-resources. E-resources have a higher impact when libraries are fully integrated into the institutional culture of research, teaching and education.
To support libraries in maximizing access to e-resources, the EIFL Licensing Programme works closely with partner library consortia to raise awareness and increase participation and usage of e-resources.
WHAT WE DO
- We raise awareness of licensed e-resources through support materials and resources, email marketing campaigns, and social media outreach.
- We create opportunities for representatives of library consortia from our network to learn more about the content that is available to them by meeting face-to-face with publishers once a year during the EIFL General Assembly.
- We monitor usage statistics of e-resources and work closely with libraries in our network to address barriers to usage.
- We educate librarians on issues surrounding the licensing of commercial e-resources.
- We organize educational webinars on topics of interest.
- Negotiate with vendors for discounted prices for software products that support remote access and management of e-resources.
