In this video (8 min 48 sec), Ugne Lipeikaite, Impact Manager of the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP), shares practical strategies to help public library trainers to recognize and manage distracting behaviour by participants during training, and to maintain a positive learning environment.
The video:
- Identifies the different kinds of challenging behaviour experienced in training, for example, overly talkative individuals, silent learners, arguers, time-drainers, and side conversations by trainees;
- Suggests practical strategies for keeping learners engaged and preventing disruptions, such as setting clear rules and understanding expectations at the start of training, using varied training methods, and incorporating energizers.
