Presentation by Monika Elbert, EIFL Senior Policy Advisor, and Richard Atuti, Director of the Kenya National Library Service, to the workshop session 'Public libraries as catalysts for development, innovation and freedom' at the Sixth Internet Governance Forum (IGF) meeting in Nairobi, Kenya (September 2011).

The presentation makes the case for public libraries as agents of development by giving practical examples of innovtive public library services supported by the  EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP). The services contribute to youth development, community health, agriculture and community economic wellbeing.
