EIFL’s partner, National Library of Uganda, is organizing a knowledge-sharing event for librarians and other trainers involved in the ‘Digital skills@your local library’ project, and representatives of agencies with an interest in advancing digital inclusion in Uganda.
Ugne Lipeikaite, Impact Manager of the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) will join speakers, from Kenya, South Africa and Uganda to share good practices and lessons learned from the project, which provides ICT training for women and youth through 25 Ugandan public and community libraries. Speakers will also discuss the impact of the project and creative approaches to bridging the digital divide in Nairobi and Johannesburg.
The 'Digital skills@your local library' project is funded by Belgium through the Wehubit Programme implemented by the Belgian development agency, Enabel.
