Public librarians who have completed training-of-trainers programmes organized by the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) team and partners in Kenya, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia are invited to attend this informal knowledge sharing event - a ‘T-break’, where T stands for trainers - on the topic, ‘Online safety training for youth’.

Ugne Lipeikaite, EIFL-PLIP Impact Manager, will lead the demonstration training, ‘Survival in A Digital Jungle: A Youth's Guide to Online Safety’. She will also share a list of selected ready-made online learning resources for children and youth on online safety. The T-break will include time for questions and answers, feedback and sharing of good practices.

The aim of the T-breaks is to refresh the trainers’ knowledge, share practical experiences and to build a local and cross-border support network of public library trainers. Since 2017, EIFL has trained 62 public librarians in GhanaKenya, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia to become trainers, and they have cascaded the training to over 2,300 librarians in their countries.
