Zambian public librarians learning advanced computer skills during and EIFL-LIAZ workshop in Lusaka, Zambia, in 2018.

Fifteen public librarians from Zambia (11) and Uganda (4) will attend an EIFL training-of-trainers workshop to enable them to train their fellow librarians.

In addition to learning practical training and facilitation skills, the librarians will receive guidance in adapting training resources developed by the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) to suit their local contexts. The resources cover a variety of topics related to public library service innovation.

Training will be conducted by EIFL-PLIP Capacity Building Manager, Susan Schnuer, EIFL-PLIP Programme Manager,Ramune Petuchovaite, and two trainers from the Kenya National Library Service (KNLS), Caroline Ngacaku from KNLS Muranga Public Library, and Sarah Ogembo from KNLS Head Office in Nairobi. The workshop was jointly organized by EIFL and the Library and Information Association of Zambia (LIAZ).
