EIFL and EIFL’s partner library consortium in Senegal, the Consortium des Bibliothèques de l’Enseignement Supérieur du Sénégal (COBESS), will host a series of workshops on open access policies and repositories as part of Open Access Week 2019 celebrations. Iryna Kuchma, EIFL Open Access Programme Manager will facilitate workshops on the following topics:
Monday, 21 October
- 9:30 - 12:30 - workshop for librarians on ORCID - Open Researcher and Contributor ID. ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes researchers and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between researchers and their professional activities, ensuring that their work is recognized.
- 14:30 - 16:30 - open access repositories workshop.
Tuesday, 22 October
- 9:30 - 12:30 - open access policies workshop for research administrators and librarians.
The workshops are organized in collaboration with WACREN (the West and Central African Research and Education Network) as a part of the LIBSENSE initiative, which builds communities of practice and strengths local and national services to support open science and research in Africa.
Open Access Week 2019 takes place from 21 - 27 October, with the theme, 'Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge’. EIFL is calling for stories about the impact of open access on the work of researchers and scholars in our partner countries, and information about open access week events. Find out more and respond to our call.
