Dr Roshan Kumar Karn, Director of Open Access Nepal, and leader of the EIFL-funded programme, Expanding access to research in Nepal, has received a Special Recommendation from the Electronic Publishing Trust for Development (EPT) for his contribution to open access in a developing country.

The winner of the 2015 EPT Award for individuals that have made a significant contribution to the progress of open access in the developing world is Bianca Amaro, information coordinator at the Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology (IBICT).
